Welcome to the web home of the Hiang Kwang The, Chung Yen Shaolin Martial Arts Club. The purpose of the site is to provide information about our Central Shaolin style, as well as news, history, and information about events and classes for our club.
Our organization is headed by Grandmaster Hiang Kwang The and is based out of Lexington, Kentucky. The origin of much of the material in our style of martial arts is from the historical central area Shaolin temples in China, hence the name Chung Yen, or Central Area, Shaolin. Our club is dedicated to furthering the ancient Art of Shaolin. Our programs offer not only exceptional self-defense training, but are an excellent path to gaining inner strength, building character, increasing awareness, and achieving personal growth through the practice of martial arts.
